Danny Phillips

Danny Phillips is the President and CEO of the Detroit Executive Group. Danny brings to you, our client, over 20 years of combined public service and executive protection experience to ensure the smooth operation of any security detail.

Danny attended and graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a B.A. in Criminal Justice and Sociology with a minor in Sports Medicine. Since his graduation, Danny has gained experience working for the Michigan Department of Corrections and the Macomb County Sheriffs Department before becoming a member of the Bloomfield Hills Police Department. During his tenure with Bloomfield Hills as a police officer, Danny also studied and obtained a certification as a firefighter. He has received further instructor certifications in firearms, tactical rifle and ground fighting, as well as being a certified emergency medical technician.

Mike Bunk

Mike Bunk is the Chief Operations Officer and founder of the Detroit Executive Group, LLC. In this capacity, he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization. Additionally, he is in charge of the planning and execution of personal security details and real-world missions that our operators conduct on a daily basis.

In 1987, Mike entered into service with the United States Army and served in a variety of infantry units, both in the U.S. and overseas, while attaining the rank of sergeant and holding positions as both squad and platoon leader. He was responsible for the health, welfare, and training of over 30 soldiers. Additionally, he was in charge of the accountability, maintenance, and use of multiple types of vehicles as well as individual and crew-served weapons systems. He received training in a variety of areas, which include Air Assault and Airborne unit missions; sniper and waterborne operations; and nuclear, chemical, and biological warfare.

Honorably discharged in 1991, Mike then served as a security operator at a nuclear power plant where he received training from various private contractors and Federal special operations units in site security, threat analysis / deterrence, and close-quarter combat. Additionally, he has conducted operations in extremely hostile and non-permissive environments, hazardous and caustic materials areas, spent nuclear fuel decks, and reactor cores.

Mike has been a member of the Michigan State Police since 1996. In addition to his responsibilities as a state trooper, he has been trained as a firearms and defensive tactics instructor. He has been decorated by his department on several occasions while serving in the Metro Detroit area during his tenure. Mike has participated in private security details since the late 90's in both an individual- and team-member capacity for both civilian and corporate clients.

Mike has spent over half his life in service to defend his country and state for the protection of others. He had formed this company with a commitment to the development and continuous training of our operators and a dedication to provide the highest level of professional conduct and discreet service to our clients.

Randy Phare
Director of Training/Operations

Randy Phare is our Director of Training and a founding member of the Detroit Executive Group, LLC. He brings with him over 20 years of military and police experience to ensure all of our personnel are highly trained, knowledgeable, and professional.

Since 1986, Randy Phare has been actively serving the U.S military in both active duty and Reserve capacities. His training includes: U.S Army Special Forces, Air Force Air Traffic Controller, Air Force Security Police, and finally, in the Air Force Phoenix Raven Program.  He has conducted real world security of VIPs and aircrews in remote locations in Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia.  Randy has also worked with the U.S. Secret Service in support of Presidential visits both in the United States and abroad.

On the civilian side, Randy has been a member of the Michigan State Police since 1994. In addition to his trooper duties, he has received training as an evidence technician and firearms instructor.  He has been a primary instructor at the Michigan State Police Training Academy in Lansing Michigan instructing over 120 new recruits in the use of firearms.  He has served in the Metro Detroit area since 1998.

Randy has dedicated much of his life to the security of others and offers his experience and professionalism to you, our client. As a professional yourself, you will feel secure in knowing the training that goes into every one of our security specialists is at the highest level our military and civilian police forces can offer.

Cindy Jones
Director of Marketing / Public Relations 

Cindy Jones is the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for the Detroit Executive Group. In this capacity, she is responsible for developing, implementing, and executing the domestic and international marketing plans of the company.  In addition, she is responsible for public relations activities to ensure the confidentiality of our clients and operations.  

Cindy attended and graduated from Siena Heights University with a Master of Arts Degree in Organizational Leadership. In addition, she has earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with a concentration in Marketing and an Associates Degree in Business Administration. Currently, she is employed at a private Michigan university as the West Regional Director and she is a graduate college instructor.  

Currently, Cindy is attending Andrews University pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership specializing in Homeland Security. Her addition to the Detroit Executive Group staff will focus and streamline operations in both the national and international markets and ensure the highest level of professional and discreet service to our clients.
